In a Yellow House: Animal Kingdom

"Beautiful Birds"

Photo taken at the soccer fields by Swift River Elementary School in Belchertown, MA
This bird was so beautiful --- in the tree and against the blue sky.  I was so thrilled to get these photos!

We saw this peacock at this farm in Granby, MA while on a drive on my birthday.
He slowed down for a quick pose before he jumped over the fence and on her way.
What a beautiful bird!

Hope you like these photos --- they are from my archives, but worth sharing for the Animal Kingdom theme this week.  Please leave a comment if you stop by.  Thanks!

Sand Hill Crane - Shutter Love ! Voted number 8 in the TOP TEN!

One of my favorite nature photos taken in Trinity, Florida on a trip to visit Steve's mom.

Beatiful color on the head and just nice positioning the way that the bird is cropped.

UPDATE!!  5/29/10

SO excited!  I just found out that my photo was selected #8 in the top Ten for Shutter Love Tuesdays this week!  Yay!!

Sandhill Cranes in Trinity Florida

These beautiful birds frequent the golf course (Steve's mom lives on the 7th tee) in Trinity. We arrived to see them on the course in the afternoon and my mother in law told us how they mate for life.... they have one or 2 babies, but only have one mate. They were beautiful to watch and as I took their photos they came closer to us to visit - - Here are my favorites:

I searched to find out more and here is a link to the International Crane Foundation website that is an incredible resource.
